Hollow or solid ball — which suits your project?

Solid balls

Solid all the way through, stable to work with. Glue materials onto them such as dried flowers, shells, moss or felt. Paint with acrylic. Good as a base for floral arrangements, Christmas decoration or a shell ball.

Hollow balls

Lighter in weight, suited for hanging decorations or when weight matters. Used for mobiles, hanging ornaments or as a base for lit decorations. Diameter up to 50 cm.

Floristry and decoration

A ball as the base for a floral arrangement: glue dried flowers, twigs and berries onto the outside for a round composition. Suited for table pieces, sideboards or as a hanging element.

Christmas decoration

Classic for handmade baubles to hang on the tree or a branch. Cover with rope, hydrangea leaves, moss, beads or glitter. Combine with ribbons for finishing.

Shell and sea art

Ball as a base for shell work — cover with capiz, small shells and starfish for a natural look.

Working with it

  • Cutting: sharp knife or bread knife, slow sawing motion
  • Gluing: low-melt glue gun (a regular hot melt glue gun melts the Tempex!), cold glue in tube or contact glue
  • Covering: rope, moss, felt, shells, beads, glitter glue — everything sticks
  • Painting: acrylic or poster paint, no solvents (they damage the material)
